Bindi

My family recently decided to get a new puppy. We have been talking about getting one for about 2 years now but have been waiting on the okay from my Dad. Finally on Saturday he gave the go ahead.  I was a little apprehensive but excited at the same time. I love puppies they always seem to make me smile even when I'm down. So Saturday night all five of us (Mr. Fritz included) loaded into my dads car and drove out to Princeton MN to looks at possible breeding puppy dogs.

When we got there we entered this woman's house and were greeted  by 7 dogs. Five of them were Dachshunds and  two were Corgies. All the weenies were show dogs that are AKC (American Kennel Club) registered (Its a big deal in the dog breeding world). She then shows use to her kitchen were she had all her puppies. There had to of been about half a dozen to a dozen puppies in there. She pulled out three of them for us to look at. The three she pulled out were a long haired black and  tan... a long haired cream and tan... and a blue and black long haired puppy. I fell in love immediacy with the blue and black puppy. She was 8 months old and mellower then mellow. My sister held the Black and tan who was a little more restless but very cute. Then there was the lover the cream and tan puppie. My mom fell in love with this one almost right away (they all were super cute). I tied to convince the family to get the blue one but that was a no go. The next thing I knew we were writing out a check for the little cream and tan puppy. Mr. Fritz was with us watching very apprehensively the hole time with a look of complete and absolute horror with a twinkle of curiosity in his eyes.

When it came time to naming her we wanted to keep with the german theme. We had a Mr. Fritz but could not for the life of us think of a good German female name. So on the drive home we tossed out ideas like Grechin, Greta, Gurtrude and Mrs. Fritz. But, finally we thought we had decided on Heidi. It was a cute name for her. But once we got home and had her running around the house we came to the conclusion that this little girl was no Heidi. This little girl need a little more of a unique name. SO my Mom opened up her laptop and looked up German female names. Finally we reached a section of names for dogs and we found BINDI (Short for Belinda). It fits her perfect. Its cute while still having this unique twist to it.

I have absolutely fallen in love with this puppy! She brightens my day thats for sure. I may have been a little apprehensive in the beginning but would never give it a second thought again about weather it was a good idea. Even Mr. Fritz is warming up to the little pip-squeak.

I would still love to get that black and blue pup, she totally melted my heart. It would be nice to take a dog with me when I move out, but its not really looking like it will happen any time soon.
